This blog is a 2016 Christmas gift to my Dad, Reverend Dean Peterson.
My Dad is known as Pastor Pete to the thousands of people he's served over 50 years of ordained ministry.
He was called to be a parish pastor in four congregations in Nebraska, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
He served the community at Carthage College as campus pastor.
After retiring from full-time ministry, he has served as interim pastor and also provided pulpit supply.
In 50 years of ordained ministry, I figure my dad has preached for about 40 of those years. That's about 2000 sermons, when you include homilies at weddings, funerals, and services for Advent, Lent, and Holy Week.
My Dad has printed all his sermons.
My Dad has saved most of his sermons.
This blog will publish his sermon manuscripts, along with brief commentary.
